The renovation gently reworks a 19th-century cottage, clarifying its internal arrangement while extending it toward light and landscape. A new glazed kitchen and dining pavilion is introduced as a contemporary counterpoint to the original stone form, opening the home to expansive views across the Ayrshire countryside. The extension draws daylight deep into the plan, animating both old and new spaces and creating a warm, communal heart for daily life. Carefully framed openings capture shifting skies, fields, and seasons, allowing the landscape to become an ever-present backdrop to living and gathering. The project balances restraint and expression - preserving the cottage’s character while allowing it to breathe, expand, and reconnect with its setting.
