extension

including renovation and landscaping

Originally built in the 1990s, the house possessed generous proportions but little spatial generosity, with compartmentalised rooms disconnected from the south-facing garden. The proposal rebalances the plan through a restrained contemporary extension and carefully considered internal alterations, creating a new heart to the home. A naturally lit kitchen, dining and living space unfolds around a central island, while expansive corner glazing frames views of the garden and blurs the threshold between inside and out. Expressed timber beams extend beyond the façade to form a sheltered terrace, reinforcing the continuity between architecture and landscape. A more intimate snug provides welcome contrast, creating a home that balances openness with retreat, and vibrant family life with moments of calm.
