"We first contacted Andy and Nathan, at SoMA Studio, about 18 months ago when we were looking for architects to design our home on a plot of land near Loch Goil, Argyll that we had recently purchased. We were looking for an architecture firm based in the local area who would be able to design the house and oversee its build.
We were impressed with Andy and Nathan’s knowledge, professionalism and communication, and struck by the fact that they translated what we wanted but very much instilling their stamp on it.
We soon made the decision to engage them as our architects and have not once regretted the decision- for several reasons:
They have designed a practical and beautiful home that encompasses our sensibilities.
They “care” and are not doing this just as “another job”.
Their personal investment in the project has been obvious from the outset.
Their communication is excellent and they take time to listen.
We were impressed with the methodical and careful approach to liaising and dealing with the local planning department and other statuary bodies.
Now in the building phase- they work out points where we can save resources without compromising quality. We would recommend them without reservation and are very much looking forward to building our home with them. They have made the whole process manageable and made it look easy to us."

SoMA Architects are detail oriented and will often go above and beyond to ensure project aspirations are achieved. I believe these are rare qualities in an industry sometimes driven by volume and bare minimum standards. SoMA are fair with their pricing, but its the quality of outcome that sets them apart. Great understanding of brief and design skills, and ability to follow these through into implementation. Can't recommend them highly enough!”

“I engaged with SoMA Studio as I had ambitious dreams for a complete renovation, and reconfiguration, of my two bed tenement flat in Glasgow. This included structural changes to merge two rooms and reconfiguration of plumbing works to relocate the kitchen and services to the front of the the home from the back, create a statement bathroom and an additional en-suite that previously didn’t exist.
SoMA were incredibly efficient, easy to work with and produced detailed plans that were always explained. The design recommendations were outstanding and now make living in the home an absolute pleasure. I would not have been able to think of these myself. The utilisation of existing large cupboards and alcoves allowed for the addition of an office space, an en-suite and even a small utility room at zero compromise to the generous proportions of the flat.
Having SoMA on hand to guide me through this huge scale project made it a lot less stressful. The results speak for themselves. It was a pleasure to work with such an efficient, knowledgeable and patient team and I now have a home that was beyond my wildest dreams.

"Just wanted to say how delighted I was with the design service and support from SoMA . The whole experience ( as someone who’s never engaged an architect before) was so positive from start to finish. Andy made things incredibly easy and straightforward; from producing the drawings, through to discussions with the contractors who were doing the work, followed by lodging the relevant paperwork with the Council. All handled seamlessly and in good time! I’m delighted with the results, many thanks indeed."

"Soma Studio provided architectural drawings of the existing dwelling, the planned dwelling, and submitted the building warrant for my tenement renovation.
Andy has been fantastic and it's all gone smoothly. Andy has a wealth of knowledge, answered all my questions and kept me in the loop throughout the process from survey, liaising with the structural engineer, to final sign off.
10/10 would recommend Soma Studio"
